Short Stories
Good Luck: The first
short story I attempted to write. It was written after reading an anthology of
H.P. Lovecraft horror stories.
The Shadowed Walls: This is my
second attempt at a horror story. I think it came out a lot better than "Good
Luck."
Let Me Tell You Then: A salesman
that came to my door inspired this work. I admittedly got lazy with the name.
Musings of a Desert Dweller: Prior
to writing this piece I had been driving around the desert. I had already
considered delving into the existentialist jumble and my experiences while
driving served as my motivation.
The Boardroom: I was sitting at a cafe
in the local shopping district and somehow this story came to mind. I wrote it
down later and it's nothing like how it was originally planned, but I'm rather
pleased with it.
The Deacon of Somerset: This is a
story, written for a class, that is meant to be in the style of Nathanial
Hawthorne. I had a difficult time coming anywhere close to his style, but here's
what came out. I doubt anyone would mistake it for a Hawthorne original, but I'd
say it worked out well enough.
A Walk in the Canyon: This could
be considered the sequel to Musings of a Desert Dweller. It came fairly
quickly, but it'll likely be the last "existential" bit of writing I attempt
anytime soon.
